Spotlight Award honors leadership and outstanding contributions to company performance
SPSS Inc. (Nasdaq: SPSS), a leading global provider of Predictive Analytics software and solutions, today announced that Rich Holada, Senior Vice President of Technology, was honored with a 2009 CityLIGHTS Award, in the Spotlight Award category, from the Illinois Technology Association (ITA). The Spotlight Award is given to the chief information officer/chief technology officer for leadership and outstanding contributions to his or her company’s performance.
The CityLIGHTS Awards, which honor outstanding information technology companies, executives and advocates in Illinois, were presented to the winners at the ITA’s 10th annual CityLIGHTS Gala on April 23, 2009, at Union Station in Chicago. CityLIGHTS is the Midwest’s premier technology-related award event and Illinois’ largest gathering of technology executives in the state.
For the first time in the 10-year history of CityLIGHTS, members of Illinois’ technology community helped determine winners in five of the six award categories, with nearly 1,000 registering to participate and vote.
“The 2009 CityLIGHTS winners are a direct reflection of the high-quality technology companies, executives and advocates making positive change in Illinois,” said ITA President Fred Hoch. “We congratulate Rich and SPSS with this honor. With such a large portion of Illinois’ vibrant technology community casting their vote, he should be proud to be held in such high regard by his peers.”
As Senior Vice President of Technology, Rich’s role is to drive and execute the technological vision of SPSS by creating best-of-breed Predictive Analytics Software – data collection, data mining, text analytics, statistics and deployment. Rich is responsible for managing the SPSS worldwide operations for product strategy, research and development, and technical support. He joined SPSS in November 2006 as Senior Vice President of Research & Development, bringing with him nearly 20 years of diverse experience in the technology industry.
Jack Noonan, SPSS Chairman, President and CEO, said, “With his expansive software research and development background, Rich has created an extremely efficient and productive worldwide development organization that builds quality products and delivers the highest level of satisfaction to our customers worldwide.
