SPSS Inc. Settles Litigation

CHICAGO, 09/25/09 —

SPSS Inc. (Nasdaq: SPSS) announced today it has reached a settlement with Norman H. Nie regarding the previously disclosed litigation involving the SPSS trademark currently pending in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, as well as the related litigation seeking indemnification and advancement of expenses currently pending in the Delaware Chancery Court.

Terms of the settlement were not disclosed and the Company will have no further comment on the issue.
