CHICAGO, 01/21/00 —
For the fifth time, MacWorld editors awarded SPSS Inc.'s (Nasdaq: SPSS) DeltaGraph for Macintosh software with the Editor's Choice Award in the data management software category. Recognizing DeltaGraph 4.5's charting abilities, Web-accommodating features and ability to change any element of a chart's appearance, editors chose the software after surveying every Mac product released between Nov. 1, 1998, and Nov. 1, 1999. Editor's Choice Awards are presented in 26 categories and are based on overall quality and innovative features introduced to the Macintosh industry. In addition to the 1999 award, DeltaGraph received awards from MacWorld in 1993, 1994, 1995 and 1996.
"We are thrilled to accept this award from MacWorld," said Chris Gregory, DeltaGraph product manager at SPSS. "This release is an example of our continued commitment to Macintosh-based users, who make up more than half of DeltaGraph customers. Our goal with DeltaGraph 4.5 was to improve the ease of use and compatibility with other programs to make it easy to incorporate graphing in anything as a much more professional and impressive way to convey a message. The result is an all-purpose -- and award-winning -- charting program that provides users with capabilities far beyond the charting found in office suites and other, everyday graphing products."
DeltaGraph's 80-plus chart types, including 11 new types in version 4.5, combined with its 200-plus chart styles enable users in areas as varied as general business, marketing communications, research, science, education and engineering to create customized, publication-ready charts with ease. The Chart Advisor helps users select chart types or create and quickly find an arsenal of custom chart templates with the Visual Library. DeltaGraph's flexibility enables users to color, manipulate and customize every element in a graph. Added support for popular programs such as Excel 98®, Word®, PageMaker, Quark XPress® and Adobe PhotoShop, as well as the Pantone Matching System, helps DeltaGraph users easily add charting power to almost any application's data. Additionally, completed DeltaGraph charts are ready for publication in almost any format, including paper reports, electronic presentations, professionally published materials or on the Web (including Internet, Intranet and Extranet capabilities).
