SPSS Named Among Top Business Intelligence Vendors

Leading Provider of Analytical Solutions Moves to No. 12 on the DM Review 100

CHICAGO, 12/06/00

Confirming its position as a leading provider of analytical solutions for customer relationship management (CRM) and related business intelligence (BI) applications, SPSS Inc. (Nasdaq: SPSS) was named to the DM Review 100. Formerly called the Data Warehouse 100, the list is a ranking of the top 100 BI vendors as selected through a comprehensive market study of DM Review readers. SPSS ranked No. 12 this year, moving up from No. 14 in 1999.

“SPSS is proud to receive this honor because it was given to us by people who use our solutions and products to create more profitable customer relationships,” said Jack Noonan, SPSS president and CEO. “It is further proof of the value we deliver by enabling organizations to discover what customers want and predict what they will do. We attribute this to our unrivaled breadth and depth of analytics, as well as our expertise derived from working with hundreds of thousands of organizations around the world to analyze their data.”

Key solutions and products from SPSS include:

The DM Review 100 is the result of a product-usage and vendor-rating survey conducted via the Web by Market Perspectives, an independent market research firm hired by DM Review. The survey asked readers to rate the vendors of BI products and solutions used in their organizations for e-business, CRM and data warehousing. The winners were then chosen based on a weighting process that made calculated adjustments for the rating scores for each product, the number of sites reporting use of the product, the number of products in a given category, the number of categories in which the vendor’s products appeared, and the overall customer satisfaction rating for each vendor.

The December 2000 issue of DM Review will feature Noonan and other executives of companies included on the DM Review 100. For the complete DM Review 100, visit www.dmreview.com/awards/top100/2000/.
