SPSS Inc. Announces Support for Universal Application Network and Siebel Analytics at Siebel Worldwide User Week 2002

SPSS to Deliver Real-time Predictive Analytics to Siebel Systems Users

CHICAGO, 10/23/02 —

SPSS Inc. (NASDAQ: SPSS), a worldwide provider of predictive analytics, today announced its support for Universal Application Network-the industry's first standards-based, vendor-independent application integration solution-launched by Siebel Systems in conjunction with industry-leading application software vendors, integration server vendors, and systems integrators. SPSS also announced its support for Siebel Analytics-an end-to-end next-generation analytics solution that provides all users with up-to-the-moment, actionable customer and business insight. As part of this endorsement, SPSS plans to provide out-of-the-box connectivity between the company's real-time predictive analytics technology and Universal Application Network and Siebel Analytics. The joint offering will provide users of Siebel eBusiness Applications and Siebel Analytics with an integrated solution that enables organizations to build advanced models to predict customer actions and, as a result, offer recommendations based on actual customer behavior. This translates into better, more personalized service for customers and increased revenues for the organization. By combining SPSS predictive analytics with Siebel Analytics, joint customers will have a world-class analytic solution enabling them to enhance their customer and business insight with predictive modeling and real-time scoring.

SPSS and TIBCO jointly demonstrated the live integrated solution running on TIBCO BusinessWorks in the Partner Pavilion at Siebel Worldwide User Week 2002. SPSS plans to submit a fully integrated real-time scoring solution utilizing its scoring engine technology to the Siebel Validation Program within 90 days of Siebel Worldwide User Week 2002.
