Course description:

Dimensions Scripting is one of the ways you can create a questionnaire for use with mrInterview. This course covers how you can create a survey without the use of an authoring tool. By learning the scripting language, you gain the ability to create more complex surveys. This course is designed to provide sufficient information to enable the novice user in using the Dimensions Scripting language to create a survey, while also providing the intermediate user with additional information on more advanced features, tools, and concepts. Throughout the course you will use mrStudio with the Interview Option to create the surveys. mrStudio 3.0® with the Interview Option is a full-featured development environment for interview scripting that provides many features and tools to help you with the development, testing, and activation of interviews.

Who Should Attend:

Scriptwriters who will be responsible for writing, using, or modifying, Dimensions mrInterview surveys. It focuses on the creation of survey interviews and the scripting itself.

Prerequisite:

There are no prerequisites for this course, although knowledge of the concepts of questionnaire design would be an advantage.

Understand how the tools specific to Dimensions scripting available inside the mrStudio environment can improve your script-writing efficiency.
An in-depth overview of all key components of the Dimensions scripting language: keywords, syntax and structure
Differences between question types and how to structure scripts for each type
How to control the presentation of the interview - using Loops to cycle through collections of items on which sets of questions are asked and presenting that in different formats
Good practices for creating surveys for the mrInterview online environment, such as creating grids on the screen and multiple questions per screen
Testing and Debugging your script using the features in mrStudio Interview Option such as automatically running test interviews and collecting the test data without even activating to the mrInterview server
Using conditional actions and logical functions to set up specific routing instructions based on respondent answers
Creating category filters, for example, showing only the responses that were selected on a previous question
Inserting information from the participants' database table into your script (sample management)
