Occasionally, you may need to access the Essbase Administration Services (EAS) console from a workstation that does not have the client installed, or when you do not have the necessary resources to install it on your workstation.

In Essbase 11, you can access the EAS console via the Web. To use this feature, you will need the IP address or name of your IBM i, as well as the EAS port. (If you do not have this information, you may obtain it from your Essbase administrator.)

To access the launch page, enter the following URL:

http://IP:EAS Port/easconsole/console.html

Replace "IP" in the URL above with the IP address or host name of your system and replace "EAS Port" with the EAS port number. Select your country from the drop-down menu, as shown in Figure 1.

Once you have selected a country, click the Launch button to open a new browser window and launch the Essbase Administration Services Console. Log in to the console using your Essbase user ID and password, as shown in Figure 2 below.

After entering your credentials, you will have access to the EAS console and Essbase servers, as shown in Figure 3. You can create new applications, databases, and load rules, and work just as if you had the client software installed on your workstation.
